We transform the iconic boat ride with cutting-edge projection mapping, delivering an immersive jungle experience that reinvigorates the rainforest café’s flagship attraction.

When Landry’s, Inc., the parent company of Rainforest Café, approached us to rejuvenate the aging animatronics of their flagship River Adventure Ride, we saw an opportunity to create something extraordinary. This ride—the only boat ride among Rainforest Café locations and a cornerstone attraction near their Houston headquarters—needed a transformation that would breathe new life into it while honoring its unique charm and boosting attendance.

Boosting Attendance and Sparking Social Media Buzz

Landry’s observed a notable increase in both attendance and revenue following our installation. The ride’s rejuvenation ignited excitement among guests, leading to hundreds of people sharing their experiences on social media platforms. This organic promotion amplified the attraction’s visibility, drawing even more visitors eager to embark on the newly enhanced jungle journey.

Innovative Projection Mapping Enhances the Jungle Journey

Our A-Z engineering, installation, and content creation teams collaborated closely to reimagine the experience. Utilizing 18 LPS PRO-E projection systems of varying lumens, we devised a hybrid approach that seamlessly blended the existing physical environment with dynamic projection mapping.

Our creative team crafted a bespoke jungle-themed projection show package. Animations were meticulously designed to interact with the ride’s existing props and moving structures, such as animatronic dinosaurs and lush foliage. Previously dim sections of the ride were transformed as we illuminated walls and surfaces with vibrant projections, immersing riders in an ever-changing rainforest ecosystem.

Introducing the World’s First Cloud-Based Projection System

A pioneering element of this project was the implementation of Luxedo's cloud-based projection system in such an attraction. Our innovative technology allows for seamless updates and maintenance of the projection content, ensuring the experience remains fresh and engaging over time without the need for extensive on-site interventions.
