Purchased by the UAE, the QE2 was transformed into a luxury floating hotel, preserving its legacy while embracing modernity. As part of Luxedo’s expansion into the Middle East, we had the opportunity to showcase the power of projection mapping by bringing this iconic vessel to life in a breathtaking visual experience.

An Immersive Dual-Projection Experience

Our team executed a two-part projection mapping showcase on the QE2, designed to transport visitors into a mesmerizing maritime spectacle.

1. Stormy Seas on the Ship’s Exterior

The first part of the experience featured the ship’s exterior transformed into a rolling ocean scene. Immersive, hyper-realistic waves crashed against the vessel, making it appear as if the QE2 was caught in the middle of a raging sea. This breathtaking display of motion and depth captivated onlookers, seamlessly blending the ship’s physical structure with our digital artistry.

2. A Window to the Ocean on the Deck

On the deck, guests were taken on a surreal journey as we projected an oceanic illusion onto the ship’s interior windows. The effect was designed to make it seem as if passengers were peering through real cabin windows into the open sea, experiencing a dynamic, moving horizon. This interactive visual transformed the deck into a fully immersive nautical experience, further reinforcing the ship’s storied past.
