Royalston Square: 20,000 Square feet of Immersive Projection Mapping

“Las Vegas has the sphere, Minneapolis has Royalston Square”

This was the refrain heard again and again on news stations throughout Minneapolis leading up to the 27^th of February 2025. That day, Entourage Events Group and Luxedo presented the grand opening of the Royalston Square event venue, a first-of-its kind indoor immersive events space.

The space is designed to be completely modular, allowing for all 20,000ft² to be tailor-made to each and every event that the square will host. In order to cover all of the venue, Luxedo supplied no fewer than 36 projectors, all of them perfectly synchronized to each other, the music, and whatever performance is taking center stage.

An immersive experience of this scope was impossible to conceive of even a year ago. At the time, both the technological limitations and pricing options made this feat practically unattainable, but through innovations within Luxedo’s ground-breaking LuxLive software, what was a far-off dream became reality. Live edits and streams for shows had never been a realistically attainable quality of projection-mapping, but LuxLive brought that into a reality. When Royalston square launched, it did so with 36 projectors all synchronized to live music. The public launch the next day featured live music, performers, and an immersive dining experience. Live feed from the performances were streamed onto each of the walls, allowing every corner of the room the same quality viewing experience. All told, attendees were left with an utterly unforgettable experience, and Royalston Square’s event schedule is rapidly being booked
