Royalston Square: 20,000 Square feet of Immersive Projection Mapping

“Las Vegas has the sphere, Minneapolis has Royalston Square”

This was the refrain heard again and again on news stations throughout Minneapolis leading up to the 27^th of February, 2025. That day, Entourage Events Group and Luxedo presented the grand opening of the Royalston Square event venue, a first-of-its kind indoor immersive events space.

When designing the space in collaboration with Entourage, is designed to be completely modular, allowing for all 20,000 square feet of projection space to be tailor-made to every event that the Square hosts. In order to cover all of the venue, Luxedo supplied 36 Luxedo PRO projectors, allowing them to synchronize to music, video feeds, live games, and scoreboard.

The scope of Royalston Square as an indoor venue for events centered around projection mapping was unprecedented. The legacy alternatives fell far short of Entourage's ambitions, but these goals ultimately came to fruition thanks to Luxedo's innovative LuxLive system.

Live edits and streams for shows had never been a realistically attainable quality of projection mapping of this scale, but LuxLive'd innovative approach to production enabled an unprecedented accessbility and ease of use, setting a new standard for indoor immersive experiences. CEO of Entourage Events Group, Steve Hark, had this to say at the ribbon-cutting ceremony:

The public launch the next day featured live music, performers, and an immersive dining experience. Live feed from the performances were streamed onto each of the walls, allowing every corner of the room the same quality viewing experience. All told, attendees were left with an utterly unforgettable immersive experience.
